About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Coordinator to join our team at Freeport-McMoRan Inc. as a key member of our operations team. This role will be based in one of our locations, with expected travel to support other sites as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a technical expert in general areas of past and present operations and maintenance, providing technical expertise to support maintenance and commissioning/decommissioning.
  • Serve as a project lead and collaborate with maintenance/operations teams to achieve equipment reliability and run time, including asset preservation, commissioning, and rebuilds.
  • Review maintenance documentation for plant and equipment to identify potential and existing problems and facilitate maintenance best practices.
  • Collaborate with Planners, Operations, and others involved in the planning of critical maintenance activities.
  • Champion safety and environmental processes to support and improve maintenance working practices, mentoring personnel on best practices.
  • Collaborate to develop and utilize standard maintenance templates to achieve equipment reliability.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years journeyman level mechanical maintenance repair/rebuild experience with industrial equipment, including project management experience.
  • Journeyman level ability to read, understand, and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials, including blueprints.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to work around industrial equipment safely, including all relevant adverse conditions, with all applicable PPE.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and troubleshoot problems.
  • Effective written, verbal, and communication skills to satisfy training, safety, and electronic message transmission policies of the company.
  • Alignment training certification.
  • Completed a Mechanical Maintenance Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to work any shift, including weekends and holidays (shifts may be rotating in a 24/7/365 operation).
  • Frequent Travel (NA, SA, PTFI, etc.).
  • Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing, or plant environment.
  • Freeport-McMoRan promotes a drug/alcohol-free work environment through the use of mandatory pre-employment drug testing and on-going random drug testing as allowed by applicable state laws.

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $72,000-$98,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits, or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills, and other job-related factors.
