We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Health Specialist to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As an EMS Safety and Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and compliance of emergency medical services (EMS) agencies and vehicles in our state.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular inspections and evaluations of EMS agencies and vehicles to ensure compliance with state regulations and guidelines.
- Monitor and maintain data on licensed ground and air ambulances, medical first responder vehicles, and neonatal vehicles.
- Assist with reviews of new licensing applications for EMS agencies and schedule site inspections and evaluations.
- Plan and coordinate annual inspections and audits of assigned agencies and licensed vehicles to ensure procedural compliance and maintain licensure.
- Utilize various monitoring, sampling, and analytical equipment to gather and enter data records.
- Assist in the state's emergency preparedness and response to natural and man-made disasters and public health emergencies.
- High school diploma or equivalent and one year of related experience.
- Valid driver's license (some positions may require).
- Some positions may require certification and/or licensure.
- Currently licensed as a Georgia Paramedic.
- Knowledge of Georgia's EMS system.
- Knowledge in preparedness planning or disaster coordination.
- Experience in standard computer programs at a moderate to advanced level of proficiency.
