Key Responsibilities- Navigation and Safety: Ensure the safe operation of our vessels, adhering to all applicable safety policies and regulations, including US Coast Guard rules and policies.
- Marine Operations: Load and transport assorted pieces of equipment, supplies, and materials, utilizing your knowledge of local winds, weather, water depths, currents, and other hazards to navigate our vessels safely.
- Crew Management: Direct and manage a crew of marine professionals, ensuring their safety and well-being while on board.
- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on our vessels, ensuring they are in good working condition at all times.
- Logistics and Coordination: Coordinate with other departments to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment, and to resolve any logistical issues that may arise.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Licensing and Certifications: Must possess a Master of Towing license from the USCG, with licensing areas covering _______ Ton license with TOAR Endorsement, Radar Observer Endorsement, and other relevant certifications.
- Skills and Abilities: Ability to operate general hand tools, read, write, understand warning labels, instructions, signs, and pay attention to details. Good communication skills required.
Job hazards include exposure to noise. Work requires walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting, lifting objects that occasionally weigh up to 75 pounds unassisted and over 75 pounds with help. Ability to climb stairs while carrying up to 50 pounds.
