Job Summary

La Gorce Country Club is seeking a highly skilled Lifeguard (Part Time) to ensure the safety and well-being of our pool patrons. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for our members and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the safety of pool patrons and assisting with aquatic programs and pool operations
  • Safeguarding and regulating the conduct of pool patrons
  • Enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations
  • Rescuing patrons and performing appropriate follow-up procedures, including the proper use of equipment in the performance of first aid
  • Testing water quality in the pool and maintaining appropriate records
  • Maintaining proper chemical balances in both pool and hot tub as directed
  • Handling mechanical/pump room or chemical problems as necessary
  • Responsible for the proper organizational maintenance and sanitary upkeep of the pool, pool area, and locker rooms, as well as the atmosphere, look, and feel of the area
  • Maintaining properly updated safety requirements
  • Conducting patron swimming test to assess the ability to swim independently and unattended
  • Executing fitness program design in a safe and effective way
  • Being responsible for the security of self and others
  • Office organizational, management, and computer skills
  • Must follow instructions precisely
  • Certifications (Lifeguard, CPO, AFO Swim Lessons)
  • CPR/First Aid certified for the Professional Rescuer
  • WSI lifeguard training or equivalent
  • Continuing education to keep certifications and knowledge current

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, pool mechanical systems. The employee constantly is exposed to wet and dry conditions, fumes, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud when in the facility.
