Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a PhD Researcher in Health and Human-Machine Systems. The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, computer science, or a related field, and a passion for applying their expertise to healthcare and socio-technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research and development in health and human-machine systems, with a focus on autonomous systems and artificial intelligence.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians to design and operationalize advanced technologies.
  • Develop and integrate cutting-edge technologies, data-driven processes, and cognitive and behavioral sciences to improve healthcare outcomes.
  • Partner with operational stakeholders to understand and document their needs, and translate them into well-defined requirements.
  • Support design and peer reviews to gather feedback on analytical approaches, techniques, system design, integration, and testing methodologies.
Qualifications
  • PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or computational social science.
  • Strong background in data analysis and/or modeling and simulation tools such as Python, Matlab, or R.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and systems modeling concepts.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to attend meetings with government sponsors and operational stakeholders.
