Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to join our team at the Tenderloin Housing Clinic. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for processing accounting transactions, managing financial records, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and record financial transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage and maintain financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, and general ledger
  • Assist with payroll processing, including bi-weekly payroll and benefits administration
  • Provide support for financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, clients, and colleagues
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting or finance
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a non-profit or public sector organization
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including low-income, homeless, and formerly homeless individuals
  • Knowledge of financial software and systems
