Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Developmental Services, Inc. - Washington. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities to live fulfilling lives and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support to individuals with intellectual disabilities, promoting their independence, socialization, and community inclusion.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring the unique needs and goals of each client are met.
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, hygiene, and toileting, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing communication skills, daily living skills, and socialization skills.
  • Document client progress, behavior, and any incidents or accidents, maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, therapists, and family members, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; previous experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and move clients as needed, with a focus on maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with a clear driving record.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and ability to learn agency-specific software.
