We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rural Health Clinic Director to join our team at Greene County General Hospital. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the activities related to fostering positive relationships with our clinic providers.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement processes, policies, and procedures to support high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of care.
- Establish best practices for our clinics in collaboration with our Executive Leadership Team, clinic providers, Medical Director, and CMO.
- Ensure that all providers are performing their jobs effectively and that patients are receiving quality care.
- Gather feedback from providers and implement improvements based on their input.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures, especially those that have a direct impact on clinic providers.
- Participate in recruitment, interviews, selection, discipline, and evaluation process for clinic providers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clinic providers in regard to operational and policy questions.
- Manage provider vacation requests and provider scheduling.
- Assist the Medical Staff Office with gathering information needed for medical staff credentialing.
- Collaborate with the CEO to manage physician contracts.
- Lead the orientation process for providers.
- Track and manage CME requests and approvals for providers.
- Assist the RHC Executive Director to identify operational priorities.
- Manage special projects and quality improvement activities as assigned by the RHC Executive Director.
- Ensure compliance with Rural Health Clinic regulations.
- Ensure that our clinic providers operate according to federal and state guidelines and contribute to our mission and goals of client satisfaction, quality of care, and productivity.
- Ensure that approved policies and procedures are followed by providers and initiate any changes or corrections to policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Quality Department to measure quality metrics and implement improvement plans with providers.
- In collaboration with the Executive Leadership Team, strategize our organization's short-range and long-range program goals, particularly in organizing and planning.
- Serve as a leader, representative, and spokesperson for our organization to the greater community.
- Promote teamwork with physicians, staff, leadership, and all healthcare providers.
- In conjunction with the RHC Executive Director, collaborate with providers to determine operational needs and find solutions.
- Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop effective and efficient workflows for the sharing of information and easing patient transitions of care.
- Act as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians, and employees, to ensure high-quality patient care.
- In collaboration with the CMO and RHC Medical Director, assess educational needs of providers and work with the Executive Leadership Team and the GCGH Education Department in developing or securing appropriate outside resources to meet identified needs.
- Keep the Executive Director of Rural Health Clinics informed of any unusual concerns, situations, events, or conditions relative to staff, patients, families, or providers.
- Attend required hospital and department committee meetings.
- Attend in-service and seminars to maintain skills in areas of responsibility in order to serve as a resource person to staff.
- Assess and recommend improvements in EMR processes to ensure efficient and effective documentation and tracking of financial and quality data.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the budget.
- Act as backup for the RHC Executive Director in the event of their absence.
- Complete chart audits of providers.
- Maintain a high level of public recognition and interaction with the medical community and the local community at large, to maintain the future success of our clinics.
- Ensure that provider practices support exemplary, safe, and high-quality care of patients and families.
- Demonstrate a leadership role through daily work, effective management, and teaching.
- Directly supervise the Clinical Support Analyst to ensure that the EMR is used to its full capacity to support clinic operations.
- Resolve provider issues and keep the lines of communication open with providers to ensure high employee morale in a professional atmosphere.
- Develop safety and quality plans that support exemplary workplace and care practices, while also supporting a culture of safety.
- Participate in administrative call.
- Initiate coaching, counseling, and disciplinary action in a supportive manner in accordance with the hospital policy.
- Ensure that workplace environments are safe and that strategies are in place to prevent physical and psychological harm.
- Demonstrate clear ownership of workplace and patient safety.
- Report mistakes, near misses, adverse events, and quality and safety concerns.
- Protect patient confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA and Privacy Laws.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred. Coursework or degree in management or healthcare-related field preferred.
- At least five (5) years relevant clinic experience required. Experience in management or supervisor role preferred.
- Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
- Knowledge of guidelines and requirements for applicable Regulatory agencies, such as Joint Commission and OSHA.
- Personal computer skills required.
- Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals, and volunteers.
- Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
