Stamford, Connecticut, United States SpringWorks Therapeutics Full time
Job Overview

About SpringWorks Therapeutics:

SpringWorks is a leading biopharmaceutical organization focused on the precision medicine paradigm to develop and provide transformative therapies for individuals suffering from severe rare diseases and cancer.

With a diverse oncology pipeline that targets both solid tumors and hematological malignancies, SpringWorks is engaged in clinical trials addressing rare tumor types and prevalent, genetically defined cancers. Our strategic vision and operational excellence in clinical development have allowed us to swiftly advance our primary product candidates into late-stage trials while forming numerous collaborations with industry and academic innovators to maximize the potential of our portfolio and deliver more solutions for cancer patients.

About the Position:

We are seeking a seasoned attorney to join our in-house legal team as a commercial legal advisor, reporting to the lead commercial attorney. This role will involve acting as the legal liaison for one of our brand teams and providing support for cross-brand initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in offering practical, sound, and high-quality legal guidance on biopharmaceutical commercialization activities throughout the product life cycle.

The selected individual will be responsible for reviewing promotional and medical affairs materials and addressing commercial contracting requirements, serving as a strategic partner to the Commercial and Medical teams while collaborating with other key departments (such as those supporting commercialization, Legal/Compliance colleagues, and external law firms) to enhance the Legal Department's mission of fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, problem-solving, and risk management. This role requires the ability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, functioning as an integral member of the team.

Work Arrangement:

This position is classified as remote, requiring full-time work from the employee's home office within the United States or a designated region, with occasional travel to SpringWorks Therapeutics offices or other locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal advice on laws relevant to pharmaceutical promotion and sales, including the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, FDA regulations, federal fraud and abuse laws, privacy laws, and industry codes.
  • Serve as the legal representative on the cross-functional Medical, Legal, and Regulatory review committee.
  • Advise on promotional materials, disease awareness initiatives, scientific communication dissemination, field sales training, social media strategies, patient services, and product labeling.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts that support ongoing commercialization and other business operations.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in applicable laws and regulations regarding the commercialization of pharmaceutical products.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: JD degree from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • 7+ years of experience in the biopharmaceutical/life sciences sector, either in a prominent law firm or an in-house legal department of a commercial-stage pharmaceutical company.
  • Active member of a state bar in good standing.
  • Knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations related to discounts and pricing, federal and state anti-kickback statutes, state drug price transparency laws, as well as the Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act and FDA regulations.
  • Proficient in drafting and negotiating various agreements; ability to create concise and effective contractual documents.
  • Demonstrated ownership and responsibility, with a proven work ethic delivering high-quality work products.
  • Exhibits excellent judgment, is a self-starter, possesses high integrity, and approaches challenges with a collaborative mindset.
  • Able to work independently and under time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
  • Embody the SpringWorks Values by acting with empathy and humility to foster a culture of accountability for individual and team performance.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, stakeholders, and vendors in a remote hybrid work setting.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight stays as required by business needs.
  • This position requires working East Coast hours.

Compensation:

The anticipated salary range for this role is $185,000 – $240,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and company performance.

We also provide a comprehensive benefits package for our team members and their families, including competitive compensation, annual cash bonuses, equity grants, 401K matching, fully covered medical, dental, and vision plans, and a full week of holiday break at year-end. This commitment supports our goal of ensuring our team members are healthy, happy, and at their best for those who rely on us.
