Space Exploration Engineer

As a member of our Integration Team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient integration of rocket engine and space vehicle testing activities. This includes:
- Fabrication and routing of pressurization and propellant tubing
- Test article integration and checkout
- Reviewing and following test procedures
- Operating test facility systems
- Installation and checkout of wire harnesses and instrumentation
- General troubleshooting of instrumentation, valves, leaks, etc.
- Working with engineers on design concepts and development tests
- Planning and communicating assembly steps for complex mechanical installations
- Providing design feedback on the test stand and test article
- Flexibility to support testing campaigns as required
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience with pneumatic/fluids systems, hydraulics, electrical controls cabinet wiring, harness routing/management, data acquisition and/or networking systems
- Experience testing or operating electrical/controls systems for avionics or vehicle control systems
- Large mechanical assembly of tooling, platforms, and heavy equipment
- Demonstrated ability to work with test, flight, and safety-critical hardware
- Standard mechanical tools, fabrication shop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret drawings - P&IDs, fabrication drawings
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Ability to work off-shift hours and alternate shifts to accommodate testing
We are looking for candidates with:
- Working knowledge of a variety of rocket propellants, including Hydrogen Peroxide, RP, and cryogenics
- Knowledge in the use of computer programs such as AutoCAD P&ID or Creo
- Familiarity with tube fabrication (bend, flare, fittings, etc.) and pressurized system safety
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts around flight-critical hardware
