Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory orders and performing phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process laboratory orders and perform phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients
- Work with patients and/or family members who may be experiencing multiple different emotions
- Communicate and interact with a diverse population and professionally represent St. Charles Health System
- Manage multiple patient types, including confused, combative, upset, intubated, restrained, psychiatric emergency services on-site and off-site, traumatized, and nonresponsive individuals
- Register all patients for laboratory services as ordered by their physician and in compliance with St. Charles Health System policies and procedures
- Research tests and diagnostic codes according to billing and insurance requirements
- Facilitate the distribution of results via fax, phone, or delivery, as designated or as requested by clients
Requirements:
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous direct patient care experience (preferably Lab experience) and/or college science background
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, interact with patients and staff, and maintain a safe and clean work environment. The Phlebotomist must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required to perform the job safely.
