Job Title: Phlebotomist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing laboratory orders in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood samples from patients of all ages with minimal discomfort
  • Process laboratory orders and perform phlebotomy procedures following established standards and protocols
  • Work effectively in a team environment to ensure seamless patient care
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely results
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including specimen collection and processing

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; phlebotomy certification preferred
  • AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification required
  • Previous direct patient care experience and/or college science background preferred

Working Conditions:

This position requires standing, walking, and keyboard operation for extended periods. The ability to lift 1-25 pounds and push/pull 1-25 pounds is also required. The work environment is fast-paced and may involve exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
