Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for processing laboratory orders and performing phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process laboratory orders and perform phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients
- Collect blood samples from patients using various techniques and equipment
- Label and transport blood samples to the laboratory for testing
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Maintain accurate records and reports
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to safety protocols
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification required
- Phlebotomy certification through a St. Charles Health System approved accredited agency preferred
- Previous direct patient care experience and/or college science background preferred
Working Conditions:
This position requires standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.
