Phlebotomy Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist to join our team at St. Charles Health System. As a Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients and processing laboratory orders with minimal discomfort. This is a full-time, variable shift position that requires excellent communication and customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect blood samples from patients of all ages using various techniques and equipment.
- Process laboratory orders and perform phlebotomy procedures with minimal discomfort to patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely results.
- Work collaboratively with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and accurate testing.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including patient information and laboratory results.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider certification required.
- Phlebotomy certification through a St. Charles Health System approved accredited agency preferred.
- Previous direct patient care experience and/or college science background preferred.
This position requires standing, walking, and keyboard operation for extended periods. The ability to lift 1-25 lbs, carry 1-25 lbs, and push/pull 1-25 lbs is also required. The work environment is fast-paced and requires excellent communication and teamwork skills.
