Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Environmental Planner/Project Manager to join our team at Vanasse Hangen Brustlin. This role will involve leading and supporting the preparation of federal National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) documentation for a diverse set of DOT/transportation clients.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of environmental planning and project management principles, as well as experience in coordinating with clients and managing environmental projects. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee technical reviews associated with natural, human, and cultural resource analyses related to NEPA/MEPA
  • Coordinate with clients and manage environmental projects, including technical subconsultants
  • Drive business development activities, including preparing scopes of work, fee estimates, and schedules
  • Review environmental studies and work prepared by others
  • Prepare environmental documentation and presentations
  • Manage environmental scopes and budgets amongst a diverse range of technical resource groups

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental planning, urban planning, environmental science, or a related field
  • Strong understanding of NEPA and MEPA as it relates to Transportation/DOT projects
  • Experience in environmental consulting or a related field
  • Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), LEED, and/or WELL certification a plus
