As a customer service agent with GAT Airline Ground Support, you will be the first point of contact for passengers at the airport, providing a positive and professional experience. This role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including checking in and ticketing passengers, escorting passengers to and from aircraft, and resolving customer complaints.
Key Responsibilities:- Greet and Assist Customers: Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service to all customers over the phone and in person.
- Flight Announcements: Announce both incoming and outbound flights to ensure a smooth passenger experience.
- Transaction Processing: Handle credit card and personal check transactions with accuracy and properly account for all collections and conduct airline close-out procedures.
- Baggage Handling: Accept and process checked baggage weighing up to 100 lbs. and placed on conveyor belts.
- Aircraft Support: Operate jetways to place them in position prior to aircraft arrival and lift, open, close, and secure aircraft doors.
- Flight Information: Use airline computer systems to provide flight arrival and departure information, ticketing and flight boarding documents, lost or damaged baggage documentation, and cargo tracking information.
- Physical Demands: Stand and work in one location for up to four hours at a time.
- Special Assistance: Escort unaccompanied minors and disabled passengers throughout the airport.
- Independence: Work independently without direct supervision.
- Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Education: Must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience, and a high degree of attention to detail.
- Language: Ability to read, speak, and understand the English language.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills and a friendly, outgoing personality in person and via telephone.
- Computer Skills: Possess entry-level computer skills.
- Lifting Ability: Occasionally lift bags or items weighing between 50 and 70 pounds.
- Background Check: Pass an extensive post-offer pre-employment background check, including fingerprinting and a criminal history record check required by federal law.
- Availability: Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
