Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinarian to join our team at the Columbus Consolidated Government. As a Veterinarian, you will be responsible for providing medical care to animals in our shelter, as well as overseeing the shelter's operations and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical care to animals in our shelter, including vaccinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures.
  • Oversee the shelter's operations, including managing staff, developing policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement programs to improve animal welfare and reduce euthanasia rates.
  • Collaborate with other departments and agencies to ensure effective animal control and welfare services.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in veterinary medicine and shelter management.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary program.
  • Current licensure to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Georgia.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in veterinary medicine, preferably in a shelter or animal control setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
