Charge Nurse RN Med Surg

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team at HCA Florida JFK Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift.
Responsibilities- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
- Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
- Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
- Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
- Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
- Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- A minimum of one year acute care Medical/Surgical RN experience.
- Charge Nurse experience preferred.
HCA Florida JFK Hospital is a 558-bed acute care facility located in Atlantis, Florida. We offer a range of services, including emergency services, cardiovascular care, neurosciences, and robotic surgery. We are a Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center and an American College of Cardiology Chest Pain Center. Our hospital is an American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer accredited Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
