Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Charge Nurse RN Med Surg to join our team at HCA Florida JFK Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during your designated shift.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in the ongoing assessment of the quality of patient care services provided in the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and other managers to create an environment of teamwork that supports improved outcomes and service.
  • Support a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support the efforts of the facility to improve engagement by operationalizing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding, hourly rounds, and other initiatives.
  • Provide recommendations related to interviewing, selecting, and training new staff.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage all practical aspects of staff labor in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity guidelines.
  • Support proper inventory control and assist with managing supplies and equipment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Current State of Florida Registered RN License, or recognized Compact Licensure (subject to Florida State Licensing Requirements, including/not limited to ongoing eligibility and duration provisions).
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS Certification via American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • A minimum of one year acute care hospital Medical/Surgical RN experience.
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred.
