Job Overview:

Loews Ventana Canyon Resort invites applications for a Sous Chef position. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality and service while ensuring seamless kitchen operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and safety throughout the kitchen.
  • Lead and manage a team of skilled chefs and cooks to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve kitchen efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to create innovative menus and promotions.
  • Order and manage inventory, supplies, and equipment maintenance.
  • Recruit, train, and develop team members to achieve individual and team goals.
  • Communicate effectively with the hospitality team to ensure excellent guest experiences.
  • Comply with hotel policies, safety regulations, and environmental sustainability practices.

Requirements:

  • ACF certification as 'Sous Chef' or equivalent culinary degree from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum three years of experience in quantity food production, preferably in an upscale hotel or restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food production techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.

Salary Range:

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $58,000 and $72,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
