Associate Professor of American Politics

We are seeking a highly qualified Associate Professor of American Politics to join our faculty at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will hold the newly endowed Jones Family Professorship and contribute to our undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Political Science.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct and publish research in peer-reviewed outlets, with a focus on American politics and political communication
- Seek external funding for research and contribute to the Department's instructional mission through teaching at the graduate and undergraduate levels
- Support the Department's research and teaching missions through service and collaboration with colleagues
- Ph.D. in political science with a specialization in American politics and/or political communication
- Strong research record with a focus on American politics and/or political communication
- Interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
- Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching and scholarship
- Scholarly background, interest, and/or experience that will contribute to the Department's graduate course offerings and undergraduate courses in political communications
- Potential to contribute to the university's efforts to enhance and maintain an inclusive environment for learning, teaching, research, and service
