Job Overview

AZTEC Engineering Group is actively looking for experienced BIM Managers to enhance project teams through the implementation of BIM methodologies and Integrated Digital Delivery for both architectural and civil engineering projects. This role offers a flexible work arrangement.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers to establish a comprehensive BIM Strategy and BIM Execution Plans (BEP) that align with international standards such as ISO-19650.
  • Guide the Project Manager in developing Quality Plans that encompass BIM-related elements.
  • Prepare and present BIM Criteria for inclusion in Quality Plans, ensuring they are reviewed and accepted by the Project Manager and the Client as necessary.
  • Assist in disseminating the Quality Plan to the project production team for effective implementation.
  • Conduct audits and coordinate Information Models and Delivery Plans to ensure compliance with AZTEC's BIM standards and project goals.
  • Support production teams in adhering to BIM methodologies, providing guidance on contract-specific criteria and standards.
  • Engage with BIM Managers from external organizations to ensure cohesive project coordination.
  • Advise various departments on the implementation of the Quality Plan related to modeling.
  • Act as a resource for core design technologies and digital delivery processes.
  • Participate actively in all project phases as a team member.
  • Collaborate with BIM professionals across North America and internationally.
  • Stay updated on design software and industry advancements in integrated practices.
  • Dedicate time to researching emerging technologies.
  • Assemble and manage federated models for clash detection.
  • Oversee the setup and management of the Common Data Environment (CDE) in partnership with the IT Department.
  • Facilitate complex modeling, data management, and optimization for architectural and engineering designs.
  • Deliver tasks and projects efficiently while supporting the development and implementation of design tools and services.
  • Contribute to the creation and review of educational materials.
  • Lead BIM meetings with clients and diverse teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Engage in the development of automation scripts using Revit API, Dynamo, and Grasshopper for Rhino.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, information technology, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant BIM experience or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects developed using BIM methodologies.
  • Proficiency in BIM/3D Modeling with a focus on Autodesk Software Suite.
  • Strong skills in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience managing Common Data Environments, including Autodesk Construction Cloud/BIM360 and ProjectWise.
  • Familiarity with various BIM authoring and coordination software such as Revit, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Assemble, and PlanGrid.
  • Experience with visualization software like Lumion, Unity, Unreal, Twinmotion, and AutoCAD.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish to facilitate communication with North American teams and the BIM Services group in Madrid.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit API & Dynamo, as well as Grasshopper for Rhino.
  • Familiarity with Bentley Open Buildings/Roads/Rail is advantageous.
