About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Design Specialist to join our team at Atkore. As a BIM Design Specialist, you will be responsible for developing complete system designs in CAD or Revit for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement BIM models using Revit software.
  • Coordinate and manage Revit models to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Create, modify, and update Revit families to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide regular progress updates to supervisors and project team members.
  • Review work for errors and mistakes prior to releasing as complete.
  • Develop and maintain standard work/check lists to ensure consistency and quality of work.
  • Identify training opportunities and areas for improvement based on day-to-day experiences.
  • Develop complete system designs in CAD or Revit for customers.
  • Independently execute assignments and accurately identify product specifications.
  • Review work for accuracy and constructability.
Requirements
  • AS, BS, or MS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, computer sciences), Architecture, or similar building design profession.
  • Minimum 2 years' professional experience in Revit.
  • Minimum 2 years' professional experience in CAD.
  • Experience in a construction environment and/or Electrical or Mechanical industry preferred.
  • An advanced degree is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic construction processes/procedures, specifically overhead systems.
  • Capability to read and understand construction drawings and details.
  • Ability to manipulate and adapt files created by others.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and BIM.
  • Extensive knowledge of current AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Revit software.
  • D Model Quantity Extraction and D Scheduling using Navisworks.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and oral.
What You'll Achieve
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and team members to gather information needed for each project.
  • Create BIM models via Revit software using the company's products and libraries.
  • Set up linked models from different practices and coordinate company models across other disciplines.
  • Complete the Atkore immersion program.
What's Next
  • Independently handle BIM projects from start to finish by assisting with BIM coordination and providing daily management of BIM project data.
  • Perform clash detection when needed and resolve coordination issues.
  • Keep the organization informed about best practices in BIM and best use of BIM software.
