The Medical Assistant provides high-quality patient care and works collaboratively with the healthcare team to ensure a smooth continuum of care for patients with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate the efficient flow of patients through the clinic and provide direct patient care.
- Assist with client follow-up and chart maintenance, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify and address patient needs, and provide education and support to patients and families.
- Utilize strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Stay up-to-date with changing healthcare policies, procedures, and regulations, and apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and quality care.
- Current NYS Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant Certification or equivalent.
- Proven knowledge of patient care, completion of medical assisting course, or at least 1 year experience in medical assisting or equivalent experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new software applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
