Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 4:30PM

Position Overview:

The Culinary Instruction Specialist serves as an educator in a standard classroom environment, delivering instruction to prepare students for careers in the culinary field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fosters a positive and engaging atmosphere within the classroom to maximize student motivation.
  • Maintains a high level of discipline in the classroom to ensure optimal learning conditions.
  • Exemplifies and adheres to the Core Values and operational principles of the organization.
  • Establishes strong rapport with students to enhance the learning experience.
  • Conducts timely Evaluations of Student Progress (ESP's) for assigned students and may participate in evaluation panels.
  • Ensures confidentiality while promptly reporting significant events or situations through approved channels to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of students and staff.
  • Provides immediate and appropriate assistance to students in cases of injury, illness, or emotional distress.
  • Meets individually with assigned students at least once a month, documenting these meetings in case notes.
  • Utilizes all available curriculum resources effectively.
  • Responsible for maintaining student personnel records.
  • Records daily attendance accurately.
  • Assists in completing all necessary forms related to the program.
  • Ensures proper care of equipment and supplies.
  • Accountable for maintaining cleanliness in classrooms.
  • Prepares reports as required by management, including student/staff hours, requisitions, and monthly evaluations.
  • Assists management during scheduled inventory assessments.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum: Must possess a Vocational Teaching Credential or be able to obtain one within six months of hire. Practical experience in the culinary field is required. Ability to convey subject matter knowledge to meet specific learning objectives is essential.

Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of the culinary trade and prior teaching experience.

Knowledge Requirements: Understanding of methods to instill appropriate behavior and work/study habits in adolescent students; knowledge of culinary management techniques; ability to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions fluently in English.
