Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

We are seeking a skilled Sonographer to join our team at Sutter Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality sonography procedures to produce accurate images for physicians and other healthcare providers.
Responsibilities- Competently perform routine and specialized sonography procedures of moderate complexity to produce quality images.
- Work independently, exercising sound judgment, and executing developed clinical skills on challenging diagnostic procedures and situations.
- Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, their families, and other healthcare providers through competent patient assessment, attentive monitoring, and effective communication.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety while delivering optimal patient care.
- May also be responsible for performing specific procedures and/or orienting other staff to the department.
- Graduation from an accredited formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program.
- Certification as an American Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification upon hire.
- Two of the following certifications: Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN), Pediatric Sonography (PS), or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT).
- 2 years of recent relevant experience.
- Intermediate knowledge of diagnostic sonography principles, procedures, views, and equipment.
- Proficient in performing sonographic examinations with a solid understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain sensitive information clearly and professionally to diverse audiences.
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized operating procedures and scientific methods.
- Working knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Office Suite and related information systems.
This is a per diem/casual position with varied shifts and hours. The pay range is $70.54 to $88.16 per hour, with a higher range for Sonographer III. Compensation takes into account experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications, as well as department equity, training, and organizational needs.
