Role Summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking a skilled Diagnostic Sonographer to join our Echocardiogram department. As a key member of our team, you will conduct sonographic procedures on assigned patients using ultrasound diagnostic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct sonographic procedures on assigned patients through the use of ultrasound diagnostic equipment.
  • Document observations made during the procedure for final interpretation by the physician or other qualified medical professional.
  • Ensure that ultrasound equipment & accessories are maintained and functioning.
  • Explain examination process to the patient and instruct and assist patient throughout the procedure.
  • Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment, observe sound wave pattern produced, and produce and process diagnostic images.
  • Participate in maintaining records for research cases and participate as needed in evaluation of new equipment for research or possible future use in department.
  • Perform a variety of echo-cardiography procedures utilizing ultrasonic high frequency.
  • Perform appropriate infection prevention techniques, proper probe handling & cleaning, and proper Doppler technique and documentation of Doppler information.
  • Review patient medical history in chart information system, reload prior exams for comparison, and utilize ancillary equipment appropriately.
  • Spot check exams for required views and adequate demonstration of anatomy and complete exam within required timeframe.

Requirements

  • License/Certification Requirement: RDCS - Reg Diag Card Sonographer or CCI - Cardiovascular Credentialing Internation.
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience, Preferred.
