Job Title: Director of Product Engineering

Fusion Optix is seeking a seasoned Director of Product Engineering to lead our engineering team in driving innovative processes for our cutting-edge LED lighting products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive product engineering and NPI strategy aligned with Fusion Optix's vision and business objectives.
  • Process Optimization: Drive the implementation of efficient engineering processes and methodologies to enhance product development timelines and quality.
  • Team Development: Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, marketing, product design, and operations to ensure seamless product development and launch processes.
  • NPI Management: Oversee the end-to-end NPI process, ensuring that products are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure all products meet regulatory and industry standards.
  • Market Insights: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in LED technology to drive product innovation and competitive advantage.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Regularly communicate progress, challenges, and achievements to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related Engineering subject or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product engineering, with a focus on LED lighting or related technologies.
  • Proven track record in leading product development and NPI initiatives from concept to market.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong proficiency in Solidworks PDM, Arena, Salesforce, or similar QMS, PLM, PDM software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing methodologies and process optimization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive results.
