Job Summary:
The Head of Safety and Risk Management spearheads food and supply chain safety initiatives throughout the Compass US organization.

This leader guarantees that products, processes, and frameworks adhere to regulations, specifications, contractual obligations, and industry-leading quality system standards.

This role is pivotal in defining the strategic direction for the division.

With a profound understanding of quality processes, tools, and best practices, this leader will effectively scale and implement these in practice.


Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of all Food Safety functions, including Supply Chain Quality, Product Quality Assurance, Warehouse/Distribution, and Continuous Improvement across the Compass US enterprise.

Demonstrated success in collaborating effectively with product development, commercialization, manufacturing, procurement, and distribution teams.
Ensure integrity by providing strategic leadership in establishing a unified quality vision, culture, structure, management systems, and processes.

Engage in the development of annual objectives and business plans, sharing responsibility for the overall management and leadership of the organization.

Build and lead a high-performance quality organization that aligns with the objectives and operational framework of a highly matrixed organization.

Manage all related talent acquisition, training, development, succession planning, and performance management.
Possess a background, training, and experience in regulatory compliance.
Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), manufacturing standards, protocols, and procedures for quality assurance.
Exhibit analytical skills and the ability to conduct effective root cause analysis.
Be an inspirational leader who has built and led teams in both direct and cross-functional environments.
Formulate vision, strategy, and aligned resources to meet goals and objectives.
Demonstrate the development and implementation of innovative quality systems/programs.

Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Nutrition or a related field from an accredited institution.

Current Licensures/Certifications from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) and the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), along with State Licensure where applicable.

Ten (10) years of experience in foodservice or a comparable area within a highly regulated field.
Proven experience in public speaking and training for large groups, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Leadership experience in the nutrition sector.
Military Food Service experience is a plus.
