Overview of the Global Risk Development Program:

The Global Risk Development Program is designed to familiarize you with Bank of America and the Global Risk Management (GRM) division. GRM serves as an independent control function that provides comprehensive risk management for Bank of America. Its mission is to ensure the company adheres to its responsible growth strategy through robust risk management practices while effectively deploying capital to support business operations and enhance shareholder value. GRM manages the company’s governance and strategy for global risk management, including interactions with key regulators and supervisory bodies worldwide.

As a Global Risk Analyst, you will engage in a curriculum that centers on managing our seven types of risk: strategic, market, credit, compliance, liquidity, operational, and reputational, providing a solid foundation for your career.

A Day in the Life:

The Global Risk Development Program is a two-year initiative where participants rotate through two one-year assignments within the Risk organization, with chances to engage in critical enterprise projects as they arise. In this role, analysts collaborate with business groups to assist teams in making vital business decisions to identify, manage, and mitigate risk.

Key analyst responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Implementing and upholding effective risk management principles, policies, internal controls, and processes designed to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Establishing and regularly updating a comprehensive risk management framework to identify, measure, monitor, and control all risk aspects.
  • Analyzing and reviewing market trends for frontline partners.
  • Ensuring effective risk management processes are in place throughout the organization.
  • Presenting regulatory and reputational insights and findings to senior leadership.
  • Building relationships with risk executives and key stakeholders across various business lines.
  • Fostering a culture where risk management is recognized as essential for achieving responsible growth.

Global Risk Opportunities:

The Global Risk Development Program assigns analysts to teams across all seven risk categories. Rotational opportunities may include positions supporting various business groups, such as:

  • Global Compliance and Operational Risk
  • Enterprise Financial Risk
  • Enterprise Credit Risk
  • Global Climate Risk
  • Enterprise Independent Testing
  • Regulatory Relations, Governance, and Strategy
  • Global Markets Risk

*Team assignments are determined based on business needs and aligned with skill sets and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. Eligible candidates should have a graduation timeframe between November 2024 and August 2025.
  • A GPA of 3.2 or higher is preferred.

  • Candidates should demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity, a commitment to excellence, and a focus on achieving sustainable results. Strong academic and technical skills in Microsoft Office are essential. Additionally, candidates should exhibit proficiencies in leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, analytical skills, verbal and written communication, and professionalism.
