Located in a dynamic environment, the Integrated Capital Officer will be responsible for various key functions:

Oversight of Integrated Capital Investment Portfolio (50%)

  • Ensure timely submission and receipt of comprehensive bi-annual reports to our donor-advised fund provider for each borrower.
  • Analyze bi-annual reports to evaluate the financial and operational stability of each borrower, and follow up to address any inquiries or concerns regarding the provided materials.
  • Compile a bi-annual summary report for each organization, detailing compliance with loan agreements and assessing impact.
  • Assess portfolio-wide performance through analysis of bi-annual reports.
  • Contribute insights from portfolio assessments to data tracking and narrative development for the Restorative Economies Fund.
  • Deliver portfolio updates to the REF Team, Staff, and Board as necessary.
  • Modify loan documents and notes to credit files as required.
  • Conduct research and analysis on trends, gaps, and general observations regarding the qualitative and quantitative performance and impact of REF's investments.

Relationship Management (15%)

  • In collaboration with the Chief Investment Officer, perform regular check-ins with our portfolio community to evaluate the current business landscape, including the social and economic conditions of the served communities and organizational needs where support may be provided.
  • Engage in funder briefings to capture essential updates and advocate for each borrower.
  • Identify impactful stories to share with the Global Impact Investing Network team and the broader field in consultation with the Managing Director, REF, and Director of Communications.
  • Participate in events organized by ecosystem partners to stay informed about the state of the field and foster strategic partnerships to enhance our work.

Loan Underwriting (20%)

  • Assist the Chief Investment Officer in the underwriting and finalization of new loans, which includes, but is not limited to:
  • Evaluating community risk;
  • Reviewing financial statements and impact assessments;
  • Monitoring the status of underwriting;
  • Ensuring timely receipt of items on the due diligence checklist;
  • Preparing sections of the credit memorandum;
  • Proofreading and finalizing the credit memorandum and materials necessary for donor advised fund underwriting.

Grants Administration (10%)

  • Support the REF Program Officer with inquiries from new grantees and manage the grants process as needed.
  • Assist the REF Program Officer in drafting grant memorandums for review, discussion, and approval.
  • Engage in decision-making meetings for new grantees.
  • Contribute to special projects related to grant administration as required.

Operations and Administration (5%)

  • Identify and develop systems to enhance current processes.
  • Contribute to the annual and periodic budget objectives for the Restorative Economies team.
  • Collaborate with Global Impact Investing Network team members on projects when appropriate.
  • Support the development and well-being of the REF and broader team culture.

The Integrated Capital Officer must be located within the designated area within the first six months of employment.

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this position is $145,000 - $155,000. The organization offers a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Group Insurance Benefits: Fully covered premiums for health, dental, and vision insurance, long-term disability, life insurance, and a supplemental health insurance plan to cover a significant portion of out-of-pocket expenses.
  • 401k Contribution: An employer 401k contribution of 15% of salary (up to the legal maximum), regardless of employee contributions.

  • Paid Leaves of Absence (LOA): Up to four months paid LOA for pregnancy disability from day one; up to four months paid LOA for family and medical leave after one year; and up to eight weeks of unpaid personal leave.
  • Employee Discretionary Grants Program: A program allowing employees to direct grants to organizations of their choice.
  • Professional Development Budget: An annual allocation for attending job-relevant conferences, seminars, and educational events or for engaging an executive coach.
  • Home Work Space Budget: A budget provided upon joining to create a comfortable and efficient home workspace.
  • Work From Home Monthly Allowance: A monthly allowance for business-related expenses incurred while working from home.
  • Cell phone: Financial assistance towards a new cell phone every three years.

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in economic development, investment, lending, financial advocacy, or social movement sectors.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial terminology, budgets, and reports, with comfort in detail-oriented numerical analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, depending on task requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the capacity to draw conclusions from financial and impact data.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A deep understanding and ongoing curiosity about systemic and institutional racism and its effects on risk assessment.
