About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team at Ryder System. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, ensuring our fleet of heavy-duty vehicles is in top condition.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Perform facility maintenance duties, ensuring a safe and clean working environment
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
