The ideal candidate will maintain a focus on patient satisfaction while managing daily front desk responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients warmly and ensure a positive experience from the moment they arrive.
- Prepare patient charts, register new patients, update records, and confirm insurance details.
- Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Respond to phone inquiries and assist patients, directing calls as necessary.
- Process patient payments, including co-pays and outstanding balances, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Keep the front desk area organized and professional.
- Collaborate with medical personnel to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Handle confidential patient information with discretion.
- Support administrative tasks, including report generation for marketing and patient outreach.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in cross-training to gain skills in various clinic operations.
- Provide support to other clinics as needed, showcasing flexibility and teamwork.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to foster a supportive clinic environment.
- Engage in continuous learning opportunities to improve clinic processes.
Required Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Commitment to cleanliness and adherence to healthcare protocols.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, preferably Athena EHR.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in customer service, ideally within a healthcare setting.
- At least 2 years of experience in a front office role in a medical practice or hospital.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and health insurance processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Full range of motion, including reaching and bending.
- Capability to lift and carry moderately heavy items, such as documents or supplies.
- Good manual dexterity.
