Job Summary

The Veterans Health Administration is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Medical Officer to lead our healthcare team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing clinical, administrative, and educational operations at our Community Based Outpatient Clinic in Odessa, TX.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Primary Care team and ensure compliance with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) model.
  • Enhance care coordination and maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Chief of Staff of Primary Care and Human Resources Management Service in recruitment, selection, and credentialing activities.
  • Exercise direct supervisory responsibility for assigned Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) Physicians.
  • Administer proper leave management procedures and ensure compliance with facility policies.
  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and uphold procedures and policies for efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Ensure fidelity to the PACT model and promote a collaborative care environment.
  • Responsible for program operations, metrics compliance, and adherence to Joint Commission accreditation standards.
  • Maintain a safe environment to enhance patient satisfaction, staff morale, and equal employment opportunity.
Requirements
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
  • Residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
  • English Language Proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board Certified Internal Medicine.
  • Completion of three year residency program.
  • Leadership/supervisor experience.
