Position Overview:

As a COMSEC Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in overseeing the management and safeguarding of COMSEC materials. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of providing secure communication solutions across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the secure receipt, transfer, custody, issuance, and destruction of COMSEC materials in compliance with established policies.
  • Provide oversight and troubleshooting for COMSEC equipment at both program management offices and field locations.
  • Manage secure voice communication equipment and mobile secure phones, offering training and updates as necessary.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation related to COMSEC operations, including Letters of Appointment, User Designations, and inventory records.
  • Conduct regular self-inspections and spot checks of COMSEC materials to ensure compliance and security.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and continuity guides for COMSEC functions.
  • Create and deliver Security, Education, Training, and Awareness (SETA) materials for COMSEC custodians and users.
  • Investigate and report COMSEC incidents to the appropriate authorities.
  • Assist in preparing for inspections, audits, and security assessments.
  • Maintain the Emergency Action Plan and conduct periodic emergency response drills.
  • Support the development of the Operations Security (OPSEC) Plan.
  • Safeguard government property while operating a government vehicle in accordance with regulations.
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant COMSEC experience, with at least 2 years in a Special Access Program (SAP) environment.
  • Completion of the National Security Agency (NSA) IAEC 2112 COMSEC Custodian Course Certification.
  • Familiarity with various fill devices, including DTD 2000 and SKL.
  • Experience with the Distributed INFOSEC Accounting System (DIAS).
  • Knowledge of NSA COMSEC Manual 3-16 and CNSSI 4005.
  • Proficiency in JPAS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Security Clearance:

This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel within the continental United States may be necessary, with the ability to travel on short notice.
