Position: Network Administrator

Role Overview

The Network Administrator will collaborate with a team of System Administrators and Communications Administrators to manage, maintain, and support the newly established IPv6 network. This network encompasses transport equipment, security devices, and various network management systems and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and oversee networks and associated computing environments, including hardware, services, and software configurations.
  • Propose enhancements to improve system configurations and identify hardware or software needs.
  • Conduct network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
  • Develop and implement security measures to safeguard data, software, and hardware.
  • Coordinate continuous monitoring to maintain system Authorization to Operate (ATO).
  • Engage in cross-functional customer-facing integrated product teams (IPT).
  • Assist the Program Manager in estimating, reporting, and planning network administration tasks.
  • Participate in Risk Management Boards (RMB) to identify network risks.
  • Support off-hour system monitoring and troubleshooting during critical activities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field. Four years of relevant experience may substitute for a graduate degree.
  • Proven experience in network administration.
  • Recognized certification in network technology (e.g., CCNA, JNCIS, Network+, etc.).
  • Ability to quickly gain proficiency in new network products.
  • Experience with network hardening to Risk Management Framework (RMF) specifications.
  • Experience in responding to cybersecurity incidents.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in maintaining and supporting an IPv6 network.
  • Experience in network administration within a Government/DoD environment.
  • Familiarity with accreditation and certification processes for Government/DoD systems.
  • Experience with network testing tools (e.g., Wireshark).
  • Proficiency in relevant industry software products such as MS Office, MS Project, MS SharePoint, etc.
  • Experience working on military installations.
  • Security+ certification.

Compensation and Benefits:

The proposed salary range for this position is $110,000 - $130,000, with the final salary determined based on various factors.
