POSITION OVERVIEW:

This role is integral to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Enterprise SATCOM Gateway Services (ESGS), delivering round-the-clock technical and operational assistance to tactical clients utilizing Department of Defense (DoD) Gateway infrastructures. The selected candidate will engage with a highly intricate IP-Based SATCOM network and will be classified as 'mission essential,' prepared to support various shift patterns including 12, 10, or 8-hour rotations based on operational needs and resource availability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide IP network assistance, encompassing the configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, and telecommunication equipment.
  • Administer IP satellite modem support, including the setup and issuance of option/boot files.
  • Collaborate with DoD SATCOM Gateway facilities and deployed personnel to diagnose and rectify SATCOM and IP network challenges.
  • Facilitate remote access and de-access for clients within the IP/SATCOM networks.
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning according to baseline configurations and respond to alerts as required.
  • Remotely manage global equipment configurations at DoD SATCOM Gateways, utilizing Satellite Access Authorization (SAA) and Gateway Access Authorization (GAA).
  • Employ ticketing systems to assist in tracking and resolving customer issues across all facets of the network related to Baseband, IF, and RF Communications.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma with 2-4 years of pertinent experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Possession of DoD 8570, IAT Level II (SEC+ or equivalent) Certification.
  • Minimum Secret clearance is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Intermediate experience in IP/Networking, including hands-on configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and IP Modems.
  • Familiarity with voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) gateways, call managers, performance enhancing proxies (PEP), and telephony systems.
  • Basic understanding and experience with the operation/configuration of MILSATCOM encryption devices.
  • Knowledge of the implementation and delivery of DISN services (VoIP, VoSIP, VTC, NIPR, SIPR).
  • Understanding of Satellite Communications (SATCOM) architecture and signal flow.
  • Experience utilizing SAA/GAAs as reference documentation for network configuration.
  • Capability to manage IP over SATCOM networks using iDirect or similar FM-TDMA hubs.
  • CCNA/CCNP certification is advantageous.
