Position Overview:
Customer Service Representatives serve as the primary point of contact for the Bureau of Motor Vehicles. In this capacity, you will deliver timely and precise customer service. This role requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. By utilizing strong communication skills, computer proficiency, and on-the-job training, you will assist countless Hoosiers with their diverse BMV needs.
Location:
This position is based at a BMV branch in Indianapolis.
Compensation:
The starting salary for this role typically begins at $ per hour.
A Typical Day:
The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Utilizing your expertise to facilitate customer transactions
- Responding to customer inquiries and providing assistance
- Assisting with the daily operations of the branch
- Verifying transactions for accuracy, timeliness, and proper accounting
- Collaborating with management to address escalated customer issues and system challenges
- Processing applications as completed throughout the day

Qualifications for Success:
To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong critical thinking abilities and troubleshooting skills
- Capability to process cash and card transactions
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time for branch-related activities
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role may involve supervisory duties based on agency requirements.
Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:
This seasonal position does not provide benefits and is limited to 180 working days within an eleven-month continuous period.
