Job Summary:

As a Respiratory Care Practitioner II Registered, you will be responsible for providing high-quality respiratory care to patients in a hospital setting. You will work under the supervision of a physician and be expected to exercise independent clinical judgment in the respiratory care of patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital, including neonatal and pediatric patients in the intensive care unit.
  • Perform diagnostic tests of the cardiopulmonary system and interpret results to determine the effect of disease and treatment on the system.
  • Operate medical equipment to safely treat patients, including ventilators, oxygen therapy devices, and other respiratory care equipment.
  • Monitor patients' physiological responses to therapy and recognize adverse reactions, making adjustments to therapy as needed.
  • Document all required information in the medical record according to departmental policy and procedure.
Requirements:
  • At least three (3) years of recent experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required.
  • Graduate from a respiratory care education program supported by CoARC or accredited by CAAHEP, with 62 semester hours of college credit, including a background in the basic sciences.
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner License (California) from National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Certified or Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist by the National Board for Respiratory Care preferred.
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist by the National Board preferred.
  • At least one year of recent critical care experience preferred.
  • At least one year of clinical experience in neonatal/pediatric respiratory care preferred.
