Compounding Pharmacy Technician Job Description

At Option Care Health, we're re-imagining the infusion care experience for patients, customers, and employees. As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist pharmacists with prescription compounding, preparation, and processing.
  • Prepare medications for accurate compounding.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations for correct dosages.
  • Accurately label and package medications.
  • Participate in medication-related incident assessment, management, and reporting.
Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance:
  • Clean and sanitize pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods.
  • Inspect equipment and document failures or defects.
  • Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of pharmacy technician experience.
  • Licensed or registered (if required by the state).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience.
  • Successful completion of OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
