Job Title: Human Resources Intern

About the Role:

Newport Mental Health is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Human Resources (HR) Administrative Intern to join our team. As an HR Administrative Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of human resources while supporting the day-to-day administrative functions of the HR department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing phone calls, scheduling meetings, and maintaining office supplies.
  • Participate in special HR projects, such as employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, or HR analytics projects.
  • Maintain employee files and databases, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Assist with the new hire onboarding process, including preparing new hire paperwork, shadowing orientations, and ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately.
  • Support the recruitment process by posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and running analytic reports.
  • Assist in the planning of company events.
  • Participate in career days and company social and networking events.
  • Post job advertisements to job boards and social media platforms.
  • Organize and manage the review and updating of employee data and reports.

Requirements:

  • Enrolled in a university or college program at junior or senior level, preferred course of study to include Psychology, Human Resources, Communications, or related field.
  • Able to maintain a flexible work schedule.
  • Able to demonstrate a professional work ethic.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
