Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Services Representative to join our team at EvergreenHealth. As a key member of our customer service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and support in a fast-paced call center environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Patient Scheduling: Create and manage patient appointments, reschedule and cancel appointments as needed, and optimize provider schedules to ensure efficient use of time.
  • Request and Validate Interpreter Services: Arrange for interpreter services to meet patient needs and ensure accurate communication.
  • Verify Insurance Coverage: Set up and verify active and contracted insurance coverage in multiple systems and educate patients on co-insurances and co-pays.
  • Market Patient Portal Benefits: Assist patients with enrolling in the patient portal and promote its benefits.
  • Manage Multi-Line Telephone System: Handle incoming and outgoing calls, and respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify and Direct Emergent/Urgent Symptoms: Follow guidelines to identify patients with emergent or urgent symptoms and direct them to appropriate clinical staff for screening.
  • Manage Messages and Work Queues: Accurately and completely manage messages, propose orders, and coordinate communication with clinic staff.
  • Prepare and Send Correspondence: Prepare and send letters, portal messages, or phone calls to communicate important patient information and outreach.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required for the position.
  • 1 Year of Customer Service Experience: Required for the position.
  • Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with diverse individuals and dispositions.
  • Problem-Solving and Time Management Skills: Ability to stay calm under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong Written Communication Skills: Ability to spell accurately and write legibly.
  • Ability to Work Independently: Show initiative and work productively within a team environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Experience in Medical Reception or Administrative Role: Desired for the position.
  • Knowledge of Basic Medical Terminology: Desired for the position.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Desired for the position.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA and Health Industry Compliance Standards: Desired for the position.
