Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, the Lead Financial Strategist will play a pivotal role in assessing financial information, generating comprehensive reports, and offering insights to aid in strategic decision-making. This position demands a robust grasp of financial modeling, data interpretation, and operational dynamics.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Data Interpretation: Gather and scrutinize financial data, encompassing revenue, expenditures, and profitability across the organization, departments, and specific projects to pinpoint trends, discrepancies, and potential opportunities.
  • Financial Forecasting: Construct and sustain financial models to predict future financial outcomes, perform scenario analyses, and bolster strategic initiatives.
  • Reporting: Compile detailed financial reports, analyses, presentations, and dashboards for internal stakeholders and executive management.
  • Budget Development: Aid in the formulation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring they align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Performance Evaluation: Track financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing insights into variances and necessary corrective measures. Collaborate with teams to explore methods for enhancing gross profit margins on projects.
  • Investment Evaluation: Assess investment prospects and conduct risk evaluations to inform investment choices.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner closely with various departments to collect financial data, comprehend operational workflows, and support interdisciplinary projects. Maintain ongoing communication with the operations team to ensure alignment.
  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement enhancements to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of financial reporting.
  • Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and reporting as required by management or special initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) is advantageous.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, with substantial experience in advanced financial modeling and strategic planning.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Expertise in Excel and Quickbooks Online.
    • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
    • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy, with the capacity to perform under pressure.
    • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
