Warby Parker Optical Manager Job Description

Warby Parker is seeking a highly skilled Optical Manager to join our in-house Optical team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating exceptional experiences for customers and leading our Opticians to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Opticians, providing coaching, feedback, and development opportunities to ensure exceptional service standards.
  • Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs, taking and recording measurements, adjusting and fitting eyewear, and ensuring flawless accuracy.
  • Manage optical duties, including checking finished eyewear for quality and accuracy, and using expertise to explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
  • Uphold exceptional service standards, implement retail experience programs, and stay up-to-date with HR policies and procedures to promote a productive and safe culture in the store.
  • Support general store systems, inventory databases, and business operations, and contribute to the growth and success of Warby Parker.
Requirements:
  • A licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license (or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states) with 2+ years of management experience.
  • A strong leader and mentor with model behavior, driving optical metrics, and adhering to strict optical standards.
  • Able to operate with a high sense of professionalism and open-mindedness when making decisions on behalf of the team.
  • Passionate about the eyewear and retail industries, with a clear and effective communication style.
  • Dedicated to going above-and-beyond to make customers and teammates happy, with a detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks and responsibilities.
