About the Role

SAIC is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Hardware Engineer to support the US Space Force, Space Systems Command, in performing operational maintenance and sustainment of ground-based radars critical to US and Allied strategic missile surveillance, warning, defense, and space surveillance missions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical and mechanical analysis at the rack level to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Develop and generate engineering drawings in accordance with ASME and IEEE standards, including rack assembly drawings, interconnect wiring diagrams, and custom cable assemblies.
  • Conduct analysis of supplier LRUs, including step-file and 3D model review and compliance to specifications.
  • Support system integration, test, development, and execution of complex communications systems.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems, requiring regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Provide lab and site integration, test, and maintenance support.
  • Participate in troubleshooting systems to resolve complex issues, interact, and coordinate with engineers responsible for sustaining sub-systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and nine plus years' experience, or four plus years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance.
  • Experience in designing new or modifying existing products, developing technical specifications for production, analyzing hardware configuration and processing solutions, and testing hardware conformance to specifications.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience sustaining PARCS, or other Strategic Warning and Surveillance radar systems such as PAVE PAWS and UEWR.
  • Knowledge of the Integrated Tactical Warning and Attack Assessment mission and associated enterprise.
