Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Providing real-time, operational support to various teams for the operation and maintenance of Ground and Space system software and equipment.
  • Identifying system problems, performing troubleshooting, correcting, and documenting both software and hardware failures.
  • Supporting daily system configuration management during operations and system upgrades/modifications.
  • Ensuring inter-system capabilities with multiple Remote Ground Stations including Satellite Control Network.
  • Providing limited database system administration.
  • Providing operations subject matter expertise to technical working groups.
  • Analyzing and validating system performance.
  • Thoroughly documenting system deficiencies.
  • Monitoring and recovering, if necessary, software and database synchronization between primary and backup operations centers.
  • Collaborating closely with internal/external technical engineering operations teams.
  • Troubleshooting system anomalies when external customers endure data outages.

Requirements include:

  • General knowledge/experience in Linux.
  • Ability to support 24x7 operations environment.
  • Active DoD Final Secret Security Clearance prior to starting this position.
  • Active Secret security clearance (the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance).
  • Experience with Linux shell scripting.
  • Background in technology, engineering, software, hardware, System, or network administration.
  • Linux (8 years of experience is preferred).
