Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Urology Healthcare Provider to join our team at Stony Brook University. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our physicians to enhance patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in the Outpatient Urology medical offices, assisting physicians in rendering patient care and education, as well as providing independent patient care sessions.
  • Perform History and Physicals for pre-surgical/pre-procedure clearance.
  • Contact patients in reference to their inquiries regarding patient care, including but not limited to prescriptions, patient discomfort, after care, and other inquiries regarding care.
  • Complete continuing medical education, as well as attend and participate in Dept. of Urology Grand Rounds lectures.
  • Provide post-operative care for patients, inclusive of education, wound care, and catheter changes.
  • Perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients.
  • Maintain on-going communications with physician collaborator relative to patient care and administrative issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • New York State Registered Nurse License (for Nurse Practitioners) or New York State Physician Assistant license and certification (for Physician Assistants).
  • Master's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Nursing or Master of Science (for Nurse Practitioners) or Bachelor's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher) (for Physician Assistants).
  • National certification in specialty (for Nurse Practitioners) or Graduated from an ARC-PA accredited program (for Physician Assistants).
Preferred Qualifications

While not required, experience in medical specialty of Urology, surgical experience, and experience at Stony Brook Medicine are highly desirable.
