Position Summary: We are in search of a motivated early-career Hardware-In-the-Loop (HITL) Engineer to enhance our satellite systems testing and validation processes through advanced simulation and emulation techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with system engineers and stakeholders to establish testing requirements and objectives.
  • Create detailed test plans and procedures tailored for hardware-in-the-loop evaluations.
  • Design and set up test environments utilizing simulation and emulation technologies.
  • Integrate necessary test equipment, interfaces, and instrumentation for effective HITL testing.
  • Conduct hardware-in-the-loop tests in accordance with established plans and procedures.
  • Monitor, analyze, and ensure the reliability of test results.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any anomalies or issues that may arise during testing.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to address and resolve identified challenges.
  • Develop and maintain simulation models and emulators to accurately represent satellite systems.
  • Configure and program test equipment, including sensors and communication interfaces.
  • Implement real-time simulation and emulation environments for satellite subsystems.
  • Work alongside software engineers to create test automation scripts and tools.
  • Analyze test data, identify trends, and generate insightful reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive test documentation, including analysis and recommendations.
  • Continuously enhance HITL testing methodologies and tools to improve efficiency.
  • Stay informed on the latest trends and technologies in HITL testing.
  • Contribute to R&D initiatives aimed at advancing HITL testing capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Person status is required due to access to export-controlled data.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in hardware-in-the-loop testing, ideally within the aerospace or satellite sectors.
  • Strong familiarity with simulation and emulation tools (e.g., Simulink, LabVIEW, OPAL-RT) and real-time software platforms.
  • Understanding of satellite systems and subsystems, including communication, power, and attitude control.
  • Experience in creating and implementing test environments using simulation models.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, or C/C++.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated capability to thrive in a fast-paced testing environment while achieving results.
