At Loft Orbital, we're seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our spacecraft systems. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex hardware components for our satellites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components for our spacecraft systems, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical components with other systems, such as flight software and thermal management.
  • Perform detailed structural and thermal analysis to ensure the robustness and reliability of our spacecraft hardware.
  • Support environmental and performance testing to validate analysis and demonstrate compliance to design criteria.

Requirements:

  • Experience with 3D CAD design tools, preferably Solidworks.
  • End-to-end satellite program experience, with a focus on mechanical engineering.
  • Strong understanding of thermal and structural design principles, including hand calculations and FEM analysis.
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight and collaborate effectively with international teams.
