The Internet Technologies Quality Engineering & Operations team is on the lookout for a skilled and dedicated Software Development Engineer in Test Manager to elevate our existing automation and processes.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks, tests, and tools. This role provides the chance to lead and contribute to the software qualification process through automation.

Role Overview


The Internet Technologies Quality Engineering & Operations team seeks a highly driven Quality Engineering Manager to meet the increasing demands of automation for communication applications.

You will oversee a team of talented software engineers dedicated to ensuring the quality of these applications. Collaboration with engineering teams and Apple's Continuous Integration infrastructure will be essential. You will engage with team members to define requirements, identify suitable testing methodologies, and implement effective processes.

Your strategic vision, analytical mindset, and critical thinking abilities will be crucial in identifying enhancements and tools necessary to boost team efficiency and productivity.

Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.


- Over 2 years of experience leading projects or managing a quality assurance team, including planning and executing both white box and automated testing.

- Proven ability to develop, implement, and support automation testing strategies.

- Strong expertise in integrated systems and comprehensive testing methodologies.

- Demonstrated capability to achieve results through collaboration and relationship-building across various teams.

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, Java, Swift, or C/C++, and familiar with databases, SQL, and scripting languages.

- Experience with Continuous Integration practices and efficient code delivery.

- A solid track record of meeting project deadlines and deliverables.

- Strong understanding of software engineering principles and the development lifecycle.

- Skilled in refactoring, test automation, modular code design, and build infrastructure.

Preferred Qualifications

- In-depth knowledge and experience with technologies such as Python, Swift, Objective C, and Splunk.

- Experience in automation planning, execution, and project triage across multiple platforms, including iOS and macOS.

Compensation and Benefits

At Apple, base pay is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a range. This allows for growth and development within your role.

The base pay range for this position is between $181,000 and $313,000, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to participate in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.

Employees may be eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards and can purchase Apple stock at a discount through the Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
